Come home to your wild soul

In the journey, we acquire the skills we need to survive and thrive in the wilderness and awaken a deep, embodied relationship with nature. For ten full days, the Scandinavian mountains are our home.

  • We step out of the human world and disconnect from the noise to deepen our relationship with nature and ourselves.
  • We go off-trail to explore, crossing mountain ridges and setting up camp in ancient forests, taking the time to reflect and quiet our minds.
  • We master survival skills to become strong and resilient, building shelters, cooking over the fire, and washing ourselves in pristine mountain lakes, rivers, and streams.
  • We gather around the fire every morning to anchor with movement, breathing, and meditation.
  • We learn how to listen to nature’s guidance, discovering what the wilderness can tell us about ourselves.
  • We form a tribe, experiencing the wilderness together, sharing our truth, and supporting each other where needed.

“The journeys are great to take some time off to think about deeper processes, choices, and undercurrents. I am in awe of the wisdom, effortlessness, balance, and pureness that Sacha just seems to ooze. He guided me back to nature. The peace and clarity I found prove that Sacha is a wilderness guide in the most holistic sense of the word.” —Klazien

“Everything felt so familiar. Living in nature made so much sense. Finally, life is simple. I am connected to myself, my tribe, and Mother Earth, what more could I long for? Rewilding felt like coming home in a house I have never been in before.” —Barry

“The journey has given me a lot of insight into the rhythm of nature. This resulted in my ability to make powerful decisions and follow the flow of nature instead of going against it. Sacha creates a space where people can go through whatever they need to, a setting where people can gather, connect, explore, rest, let go, and reflect. I met wonderful people on these journeys and look forward to arriving in this space again in the future.” —Cas

“My rewilding experience was one of coming home into myself. Sacha is a wonderful guide, as he makes sure you are well prepared and then gets out of your way, empowering you to have your own experience. The wilderness opened me up, humbled me, and peeled off layers that society had lured me into. I take home with me a sense of self-reliance, and a sense of triumph, not over nature, but over my own limiting beliefs.” —Jaap

About your guide

This journey is led by Sacha Post and his team. Sacha is an experienced wilderness guide, coach, and philosopher who facilitates wilderness journeys, retreats, and courses that enable an authentic and embodied connection with nature and the wilderness.

After obtaining a research master’s degree in cultural analysis, Sacha continued to study the ancient traditions and practices of people who lived in harmony with nature. He traveled for seven years, living in tribes and communities to learn and further deepen his understanding of their ways. He also spent a great deal of time in remote wildernesses, learning first-hand how to integrate these practices into his life.

Nature of Wonder was born in 2018 out of Sacha’s desire to inspire people to live a life of wonder aligned with the cyclical flow of nature. Since then, Sacha has taken many people into the wild and back safely.

Forever remaining a student of nature, Sacha continues to learn about nature’s ways, helping people on their paths as he walks his own. In the words of Richard Bach, we teach best what we most need to learn.

Answer the call of the wild

When you join the Rewilding Journey, this is what you sign up for:

  • A ten-day wilderness journey with a tribe of a maximum of ten people, led by two experienced wilderness guides.
  • The essential wilderness skills that help you thrive in nature. You will learn how to adequately prepare a trip into the wilderness, make fire in all weather conditions, navigate with map and compass, build effective shelters, as well as other crafts and skills to improve your time in nature and express your creativity. By the end of your journey, you should feel confident to be in the wilderness on your own.
  • A vision quest in the mountains, a powerful solitary rite of passage where you will meet yourself within a safe space.
  • Daily sessions around the fire to open yourself up to nature’s guidance and reflect on essential questions in your life.
  • Daily movement, breathing, and meditation exercises, to strengthen your body, mind, and spirit.
  • Three in-depth sessions to prepare your equipment and your food, and help you integrate what you have learned when you are back home.

Frequently asked questions

I have never done something like this. Do I need to have experience?

No. We designed these journeys to be accessible for reasonably fit and healthy people. You will be in a safe space, supported by an experienced team, so you can feel at ease and allow the ways of the wilderness to come to you naturally. Get in touch with Sacha if you doubt whether you can go on this journey.

What do I need to bring with me?

Most of us have never learned how to be comfortable outside, especially in bad weather. Learning to dress for the outdoors is simply life-changing. When we know what to bring and wear, our bodies can relax and become intimate with nature in all its shapes and forms.

When you join, you receive a detailed packing list explaining what you need and why you need it, including recommendations for all budgets. Expect a simple list to fulfill your basic needs in the wilderness, like a tarp, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, headlamp, and clothing to keep you warm and dry, as well as a backpack and tools like a knife, folding saw, fire steel, compass, water bottle, and cooking pot. We keep it simple, encouraging you to do more with less, relying on skills instead of bringing more equipment.

What will I eat? How will I wash? And where will I sleep?

The first night we will spend in a cabin at the edge of the park to ease into our journey, and from then onwards the wilderness will be our accommodation. We will set up camp in the ancient forests at the foot of the mountains, building simple shelters so we can sleep under the stars. There are plenty of pristine lakes, rivers, and streams where you can wash yourself and your clothes. You will prepare and carry your own food and equipment for this journey. Of course, you will receive detailed instructions and we will help you prepare yourself well.

Where will we meet, and how will I get there?

The journey starts at the edge of the park, where we will stay overnight in a cabin so we can hike out together early the next morning. We recommend driving with us from the Netherlands. When you join, we will connect you with the other participants so we can make travel plans together.

We return to the park’s edge in the late morning of the last day of the journey so we can continue traveling home. If you drive back with us to the Netherlands, you’ll be back home the day after.
